My Letter To Myself
Hello my lovelies!! This week i had to make a letter so I would like to share my letter writing to you

I HOPE YOU ENJOY!!
guys. This letter is about what we did in lockdown for COVID-19. This letter goes to my future self.
I HOPE YOU ENJOY!!
Dear Future Elise,
I have just come out of lockdown for COVID-19/Coronavirus. COVID-19 is a disease that started in
one of the markets in Wuhan, China. It has come to almost every country in the whole world!! We
went into lockdown to keep the virus from spreading more and more over the countries. Some
countries have had HUGE outbreaks of COVID-19. We had to stay home for 7 weeks to slow down
the virus. We had to social distance and stay away from friends. It was tough but we did it in the
end.

end.
Our prime minister, Jacinda Adern, told the whole country to stay home. There were alert levels
for the virus. The levels were Alert Level 1: nothing to worry about. Alert Level 2: social distance.
Alert Level 3: stay home, social distance, things are closed, schools shut. Alert Level 4: stay home,
social distance, everything is closed apart from essential service, only go out for walks and runs
and bikes and grocery stores, police on the road, schools shut. Jacinda Adern told the country to
nominate one person to go out to the grocery store. My mum was the person in my family who went
out to the store.

My mum is also an essential worker so she had to go to work during these tough times. OK. I am
going to get to what I did during lockdown. On the first night me and my family had dinner in front
of the TV and watched Interstellar. We enjoyed that. The next morning I slept in till 10:30!! It
was CRAZY!!!! I played with Lego and played on my Ipad. Later that day I walked my dog.

My favourite part of lockdown was when my dog peed on my dad's shoe!! That was so funny. I was
laughing for like 3 hours!!! My least favourite part of lockdown was having to do chores all the time.
I missed my friends so much during this time.

When week two of lockdown came along, we were eating dinner and talking about the disease. I
started crying because I didn't want to be away from my friends and I was scared that they were
going to get sick. That was really hard for me and my sisters. None of us wanted to be away from
our friends.

I went for scooters, walks, went to the beach with my dog, played on my Ipad, trimmed the grass
with scissors, made sheets that had things to on them for my neighbors, did chores, made my bed 1 time, cleaned my room, cried, got like 5 bruises from my sisters and scootered in the pitch black at 7:30 every night. I probably did more than that but i can't remember.

We had to do distance learning. We had to go onto the hub site and tapped the links to the Google Meets. We had Google Meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I enjoyed Google Meets because I could go to school in my slippers or under my blankets with my cats.
The people who were in my bubble were: Myself (Elise), My Mum (Tamara), My Dad (Stephen), My Sister (Cleo), My Other Sister (Corinne), My Dog (Trevor), My Cat (Coco) And My Other Cat (Chester).
Soon Jacinda Adern told the country that on Thursday 14 May level 2 would come around. On Monday 17 May we had to go back to school. I was anxious and was worrying the whole day. I was shaking and I did NOT want to leave my parents. My mum and dad were extremely upset. They didn't want me and my sisters back at school either. They were like, “why can't we stay in level 3 for one more week??”
Thank You So Much For Reading My Letter To Myself! I Hope I Never Have To Go Back In Lockdown Ever Again. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) .
-Sincerely Elise Esposito
I hope you enjoyed my blog!
Did you have to go into lockdown for COVID-19?
If you did, did you like it?
If you did, what was your favourite part of lockdown and your least favourite part?

My Lockdown Adventures
Hello from my bed in my house.🏡
Today i am blogging about MY LOCKDOWN!! Oh Also i will be adding some emojis to make this colorful since i cant go out now :(.
Trimming Grass With Scissors:
So!! Me and my twin sister play a lot outside on our property. We had a driveway visit with one of our BEST friends, Caoimhe.🏠😇 It was about 5 April and we were walking our dog. We went to her house and they saw us standing on the end of the driveway. that was fun. Caoimhe was bored and wanted to mow the lawn, so she got hair dressing scissors and came back to the front lawn. She started trimming the grass with scissors. Then her big sister Casey ran inside to get more scissors and did the same. we had to go home now. 😞
we got home and the first thing i did was grab kitchen scissors and ran outside. i trimmed the grass for about two hours.🌄
That's my new thing.
Lockdown Activities:
Corinne and me get bored very easily, so we made these papers with a list of 5, 10, 15, 20 things to do at home.🏡 they say:
10 things to do at home
- go for a walk
- draw
- colour in
- write a poem
- play tag
- have family fun
- play dress ups
- do sports
- eat
- DO CHALK
Please rate this out of ten, ten being the best and one being the worst. when you are done, please return this to __ _________ _____. Thank you!
So that was our letter. we put them in peoples mailboxes on our street and wait for them to return them.
Thats it for my blog and i hope you enjoyed! I also hope you are enjoying YOUR lockdown!
If you have any ideas for lockdown, please comment them! thanks.

I decided that if you guys did not want to read or go onto my slide, you can read straight up facts:
i have worked on a slide about Anzac day so here is the link:
Link To ANZAC DAY FACTS
I decided that if you guys did not want to read or go onto my slide, you can read straight up facts:
- Did animals take part in war? yes. many animals took part in war; horses were used in the Calvary, dogs were trained to look for wounded soldiers in no mans land, cat were used to catch rats in the trenches, homing pigeons delivered messages and donkeys carried water and supplies. other animals went to war too, but not workers, they went as mascots
- if you don't know what a mascot is, here is some information: a mascot is used to represent a group of people or a team. most of the time is an animal but it can be a soft toy, such as a teddy bear. some people say that mascots are there to help people and help to achieve success.
- Why did soldiers have mascots? many NZ troupes had mascots, dogs were always popular, but there were also cats, birds, donkeys, goats, and monkeys. A mascot was a symbol for the regiment. Mascots were like a friend or a companion, like a pet!! it added humor and fun to everyday life. a mascot was good for morale because it cheered up the soldiers.
- Thousands of New Zealanders went to war, they were far away from home and lived in extremely bad conditions. a mascot gave them something positive to think and talk about. they were a reminder of home and normal life. many new Zealanders we injured and even killed during the war. About 40 million people did. Some people probably hoped that their mascots would bring them laughter and keep them safe.
- Where did the mascots come from? some soldiers had mascots while they were in new Zealand, and some had mascots when they were overseas. some soldiers stayed at camp before they joined the fighting. the camp at Featherston was HOME to many animals; they included a goat that followed the men around, and a terrier that liked to listen to the brass band! in December 1915, a group of soldiers marched over the Rimutaka hill from the Featherston camp. they were on their way to the ships that would take them to Europe, the newspaper said that the men were as merry as a group of boys on a picnic. they sang all the way up the long steep hill. the soldiers were lead by their mascot, which was a playful puppy, that had been practicing 'drill' with them.
I have a QUIZ for you!!
- what mascot made a group of boys sing on their way to The Navy (the boat)?
- how many people died in ww1?
- what animals were used as mascots in ww1?
Thank you and i hope you enjoyed my quiz. My quiz questions were my actual questions today. i hope your enjoying lockdown :)!!
