What´s your favorite animal in New Zealand?

Hello everyone! This week for math I had to do a statistical investigation. My question is What´s your favorite animal in New Zealand?

I got 26 people to answer the question. Here is my graph :)

i made it big so you can see it
i hope you enjoyed my graph.

I also made a slide so you can see more of it and what ´place' the animals came.

if your wondering what a statistical investigation is, you think up a question (e.g what is your favourite cake flavour) and you write down your choices (e.g chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, other). you then go around and ask your question to people. you can have an aim, like i did. my aim was 25 and i asked 26 people. after you collect all your data, make a graph and customize it.

I hope you liked my blog.

QUESTIONS
If you had to create a statistical investigation, what would your question be?
If you had one question, and the question was what is your favourite cake flavour, what would your flavours be?

Rescue Mission Ōnawe Pa!

Hello everyone. How are you? This week for maths we had to make a map and find Christchurch City Central, Ōnawe Pa and Kaiapoi Pa. We also had to measure the distance from the Kaiapoi Pa to Christchurch City Central, to the Ōnawe Pa. Here is a screenshot of my map measuring.
The distance from Kaiapoi Pa to Ōnawe Pa is 70.2km.

The coordinates for the Kaiapoi Pa is 43.225 south, and 172.392 east. For the Ōnawe Pa it is 43.774 south, and 172.925 east.

The reason the distance is so long is because we had to go through Christchurch City Central. We also had to make it realistic, so we couldn´t be floating through the water the whole time, or climbing up and down mountains and then going through water.

The next thing we had to do was look at a map around Christchurch and try and figure out the coordinates to places. Miss Henderson gave us a location and we had to find it and then figure out the coordinates. I worked with Tash, make sure you check out her blog too!

Thank you for reading my blog.

Have you ever visited a Pa before?

moving into Kaupeka (year 7 - 8)

 Moving into Kaupeka

hi guys! This year I moved into year seven. Now I am a real senior. I am in a new hub and I have never been in this hub before so it was rather scary. I am going to tell you how I got ready for school and how kaupeka is going so far.

So on the first day of school I woke up at 6:09 A.M on the dot. I woke up and realized it was the first day of school. I opened my eyes as soon as I woke up. I sprung out of bed and woke up my twin sister. I then ran out to the kitchen and started to make my peanut butter bread. After I ate my peanut butter bread, I ran to my phone and got Clock set up. I sprinted to the bathroom and started my timer for 2 minutes. I brushed my teeth so hard because I wanted my breath to smell nice. Now the time was 6:14 I think. Then I got some spearmint flavored gum to make my breath smell even better. After that I got changed into my school uniform and I was vibing to Ariana Grande. After I got changed, I ran out to the kitchen to make my lunch. Now the time was 6:30. I made my lunch by about 6:45. Then my dad woke up. I was really anxious about going to school. I really didn't want to go. I could play on my phone until mom woke up. Mom woke up at around 7:30. I took the dog around the block and then I went right back on my phone. We left at around 8:00. I was so nervous.

In kaupeka, there is way more work than i expected. I usually can't finish my work by the end of the week.

pā week! :-)

hello everyone! this week at school it was pā week. you might be wondering what a pā is. a pā is a village type thing that your tribe lives in. it can also be a house. it is kind of like a fighting arena.

we had to make an advertisement for a pā, like a home. here's my advertisement :). i also had to make a second advertisement with my buddy, Mimi.

i hope you enjoyed my ads.

i have also completed my own pā. i did it with my friend Mimi. make sure you check out her blog too! we made views from the top and the side for extra detail and so it makes more sense.

we hope you liked our
pā.

it was really hard to create the pā from the top. we had to add a lot of detail. i created the pā from the side on my own. i struggled at first, but then i got the hang of it.

thanks so much for reading my blog.
